Curriculum Content
Year 7
Students undertake a series of practical workshops learning skills such as printing, hand embroidery and applique. They will also record from observation, learn how to analyse designers’ work and make a creative textile outcome.
Year 8
In Year 8, students build on skills introduced in Year 7, learning the fundamentals of using a sewing machine creatively and dying fabric as well as working as part of a team on a 3-dimensional textile design challenge. At the end of each rotation the groups compete in a Dragon’s Den style event, where they pitch their business plans and present their prototype products.
