KS5 – 16-19 Study Programme
In order to meet the requirements of the 16-19 Study Programme (March 2016) 16 to 19 study programme requirements, students are provided with the opportunity to personalise their study programme. We offer a wide range of subjects at A Level allowing our students to follow a fully academic route through their Key Stage 5 education.
The majority of our Y12 students study three A Level courses while our higher attaining students have the option to complete four courses by the end of KS5. All students have the option to complete GPR/IRR or the Extended Project Qualification.
Our curriculum offer is varied and enables students to gain the qualifications, skills and experiences necessary to achieve a wide variety of career goals. We offer the following subjects at A Level:
|Biology||Government and Politics|
|English Literature||Philosophy and Ethics|
In both Y12 and Y13, students undertake an Enrichment Programme which allows them to focus on the development of skills required to achieve their desired destination. The programme includes information relating to extra and super curricular activities, how to develop an A Level mind-set, revision and examination techniques as well as a focus on researching and applying for high quality work experience placements in Y12 and onward destinations in Y13 with a particular focus on UCAS and Personal Statement writing.
Many of our students successfully gain entry to their first choice university, including Oxbridge and Russell Group. Others decide to take up Degree Apprenticeships or Level 4 Apprenticeships both locally and nationally.
